Goan Traditional Fair at betalbatim feast

Betalbatim celebrates two Church feasts every year, one in the month of January and other in the month of August. The nine day novena mass gathers the whole village to a series of sermons preached by visiting priests guiding people through the various challenges of the modern world.

The village fair is set up the previous evening with stalls of traditional goan sweets, agricultural implements , toys , game stalls.. The village comes alive to the sounds of brass band before the first mass and during the traditional procession around the enclosed garden infront of the Church.

Betalbatim village came alive to a festive mood on Sunday 25th Aug 2013. The feast of St. Bartholomew was celebrated with pomp. The streets around the Church square witnessed children rushing to buy toys, traditional sweets that surface only during such feasts.

Stalls displaying items which are available in market are picked up keeping to traditions of special purchasing at feast. The Parish Youth organized their own stall with games of skill and had crowds lining up to try the luck and display their skill. Latter in the evening there was a football match which followed by a musical at Social Club hall

All Goa Inter Village football Tournament 2013

All roads lead to the All Goa Inter Village football Tournament 2013 finals to be played between ST. ANTHONY CLUB COLVA V/S NAVELIM VILLAGER'S UNION.

This Late Joao Francisco Pacheco Memorial Football Tournament is organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club. The match will kickoff at 4.30 p.m on Betalbatim Ground. The winners will pocket Rs. 50,000/- and the runners up get Rs.35,000/-.

Happy feast to one and all, try your luck at house for the match Jaldi Five Rs. 10,000/-

St. Jude's High School, Betalbatim stormed into semi-finals of Under - 17 boys Nehru Cup inter school hockey tournament.

This could be an eye opener to those who feel.. " oh St. Jude's High School, is a village school with no much standard, no extra curricular activities"

This school infrastructure has improved and a lot of activities the whole year around give students exposure to various competitions .

The current Golden Jubilee Year has given the school management an opportunity to conduct competitions , events involving students participation ..
