St. Jude's High School Betalbatim team of U-14 Girls are the winners of taluka level football tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. They defeated Fatima Convent HS margao 2-1 today ( 22-12-2018) at Dramapur Ground.

They defeated Rosary High School  4-0 in the quarter finals and  Perpetual Convent High School, Navelim 5-0 in the semi finals.

All Goa Carol Singing Contest 2018 at Betalbatim

ST. CECILIA VOICES BAG TOP HONOURS AT BETALBATIM CAROL CONTEST

St. Cecilia Voices led by Cielda Pereira bagged the 1^st Prize at the All Goa Carol Singing Contest organised by Betalbatim Cricket Club. Mistletoe Magic a group from GMC won the 2^nd Prize while Sanctus featuring a young girl playing jazz saxophone took the 3^rd prize. Fatima Convent H. School was awarded a Special Prize. Overall, the standard was excellent and it was heart-warming to see several young boys and girls playing the violin, flute and saxophone, besides the usual guitars and keyboards. Maria Amaral an accomplished singer and exponent of the Mando and Rene Mesquita, teacher, singer and choreographer were the judges.

   Fr. Pascoal Afonso, the Chief Guest congratulated all the participants and commended the Club members for working like a well-oiled machine to flawlessly organise the Contest  which was co-hosted by Wilma Noronha and Xavier Cota. Dignitaries on the podium also included Asst. Parish Priest Fr. Peter Fernandes, Zilla Member Prof. Nelly Rodrigues, Sarpanch Constancio Miranda & Dy.Sarpanch Anthony Fernandes, Shanti Pereira of Martin’s Corner and Club President Franklin Fernandes. Isidorio Mendes proposed the vote of thanks.

Betalbatim Sporting Club presents 32nd Glorious Traditional Christmas Dance 2018, after midnight mass on 24th December 2018. The Dance will be organised at the Betalbatim Sports Complex.

Inter-School Indian Dance Competition organised by Social Club of Betalbatim

Social Club of Betalbatim organised Inter-School Indian Dance Competition on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti . The Programme started with garlanding of picture of Mahatma  Gandhi by two senior members of Social Club, Mr. Ciriaco Cota ( Treasurer ) and Mr. Hillary Cota (Adviser). Mr. Donald introduced the guests and the judges. The judges were Kum. Debashri Madgaokar, Shri.Z . Vithal and Shri. Kamlesh Paryekar. The results are as follows:

2nd place: St. Francis Xavier High School, Macazana.

3rd place: St. Anthony's High School, Majorda.

St. Jude's High School , Betalbatim bagged the first place in the U-14 girls champions of taluka level Sepak Takraw tournament . This tournament was organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs..at Indoor Stadium Fatorda.

All Goa Invitational Badminton Tournament 2018 organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club

 The All Goa Invitational Badminton Tournament organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club came to an end. This Tournament saw players travel across the length and breadth of Goa. With players travelling from Canacona , Sanquelim, Porvorim, etc to fight for the honours, the crowd saw some splendid rallies . The Chief Guest of the Tournament . M.L.A of Nuvem Constituency Mr. Wilfred DSa gave away the winners Cup, Mr. Constancio Miranda , Fr. Luciano handed over some of the cups to winners and runners up.. The veterans were a delight to watch playing some flawless badminton.

Gram Panchayat Development Plan , Betalbatim

The Village Panchayat of Betalbatim and the Village Development Committee initiated a three days programme  for preparing Gram Panchayat Development Plan. This Gram Panchayat Development Plan under 14th finance commission will help the villagers of Betalbatim to plan development in their village. The village of Raia and Santa Cruz and two such villages that have successfully completed this process. This programme was inaugurated by the M.L.A of Nuvem Constituency  Mr. Wilfred Dsa.

SUMMER FOOTBALL CAMP at the Betalbatim Ground

Betalbatim Sporting Club organised a SUMMER FOOTBALL CAMP at the Betalbatim Ground from 8th April 2018 to 21st April 2018. This camp was for boys and girls between the age group of 7 years to 16 years. Over the years Betalbatim Sporting Club has been instrumental in infusing fresh talent into the game of football by organising such summer camps. The Coaches Mr. Bill Mallet, Cady Furtado and Jhonson D'Souza have given their best as always for this Summer Camp.. On the last day the young footballers expressed their gratitude towards their coaches..

Parking for Two Wheelers at Betalbatim Church

Our Lady of Remedios Church ,Betalbatim is probably one of the most admired Church of South Goa. The Church has been well maintained after restoring of the grandeur of the Main altar and the side altars with gold leaf pasting. The is paved area between the Church and the lush green lawns, has wooden benches around. These sitting areas get full in the evening when parishioners, The lush lawns decorated with trees is a sight pleasing to the eyes. 

Our Lady of Remedios in recent times has been one of the most sort after Church for destination weddings in Goa. This has prompted the committee in charge to think about the parking. The present Parish Priest along with the Committee and parishioners have initiated a plan for organised parking. In addition to the two wheeler parking on the west side, the church has parking for two wheelers on the eastern side.
